About SKS Foundation

SKS Foundation (Swayam Krishi Sangam Foundation) has vision of poverty free world. It is the global face of SKS cluster organizations including SKS Micro Finance Ltd., that have defining presence in India and SKS Foundation contributes significantly to making this vision a global reality. It has also ambition to reach much more global poor synergizing commitment of individuals and institutions across the globe.

Founded in 2001 as a non-profit registered under 501(c)(3) of the United States, Foundation focuses on building awareness levels in the Global Community about its ongoing Ultra Poverty Practices and Community Development through its sister Organizations in India.

Why Foundation?
India has made quantum leap becoming an economic superpower but pickup in growth has not translated into commensurate decline in its poverty. It has critical challenges in graduating its bottom poor (who live below 1US$ a day income) to sustainable livelihoods and quality life.

SKS Foundation works along with the rural and tribal ultra poor to create catalytic equity through initiatives in Health, Ultra Poverty and Education, connecting commitment of individuals and institutions across the Globe.

In this endeavor SKS Foundation works to support Swayam Krishi Sangam and Bodhi Educational Society, its non-profit sister organizations in Andhra Pradesh, India, by raising funds, elevating awareness, technical collaborations and exploring innovative ways to expand development projects in healthcare, social development, ultra poverty and education.
